This is a volunteer project. There is no charge for this whatsoever. It is simply a mission for me. I hope that in the
future I will find other like-minded individuals who would like to become a part of this organization as well.
Becoming a Member
I am currently working on a format to become a member, but please know that it is open to anyone who would like to join.
These are amazing people, and we all have something to learn from them!
Organization News
Since this is a brand new site and organization, please bear with me. I will be working on updating things as quickly
as I can. There is already a lot of interest, so I will try to get organized quickly! Stay tuned...

Dawson project and EXTRA COPY REQUESTS
I'm THRILLED to report that the Dawson Memorial Baptist Church project (31 Veterans
interviewed) is COMPLETE! After a year's work, we had a banquet on Thursday night (Nov 12) where 27 of the veterans
were in attendance with their families in a packed out room. It was so great to meet all of these brave men and women.
This is truly why I do this project!
If you are a family
member and are wondering how to order extra copies of the DVD, simply send a message to me at the link on the bottom of this
page, or email me at veterandvd@aol.com. Include your mailing and contact information as well and I will get them sent
out as quickly as possible.
Thanks to Fox 6 and
CBS 42 for covering this event as well.
Many of you have asked how to contribute to our project.
I have formed a way for anyone who wants to be able to give a donation! Simply click the link on the left side that
says "Donate" and it will take you to a secure PayPal site where you can enter a credit card or bank account information.
This is a GREAT way to participate in the project if you don't have the time to invest in it. There are many needs
we have right now for supplies and equipment, as well as other operational costs. I have been amazed at the huge response
we have gotten! Thanks for your interest!
In addition, I have come up with a "wish list" of items
that will DRASTICALLY help me and other volunteers in getting these interviews completed, saved, and produced in a timely
and efficient manner. Here is a link to a trusted online company I have bought from in the past. If you are feeling
very generous and wish to help out in the purchase of any of these items, simply follow the link and it will take you straight
there (you may have to copy/paste the link). IMPORTANT: if you do purchase any of the following items, have them
shipped to my address at the studio (108 Star View Circle, Alabaster, AL 35007). Also, please send me an email
to let me know so I can remove that item from the list. Here they are:
As always, THANKS SO MUCH for your interest in this project! We have already completed over 40 interviews
that are in the editing process and MANY many more being completed every week. I am also working to provide some video
links soon to projects that are completed. I look forward to hearing from many of you and hopefully meeting you soon!
As emphasized before, we are still looking to draw in many volunteers. Any experience is great, but not
mandantory. I would really like to have someone with some website experience, so if anyone knows of someone who could
help, that would be wonderful.
The Dawson Memorial Church project is coming along very well. We have started
the editing process and the interviews continue. MANY THANKS to Dennis Goodwin, Karen Weaver, and Dick Toya (among many
others!) for their help and humble spirit in completing the interviews. Also, thanks to the multiple interviewers who
have taken the time to contact the veterans and help them prepare for their recordings.
I look forward to
continuing to see these men and women honored! God bless.
Well, Veteran's Day 2008 has come and gone. With all the parades and kids
home from school there was a great sense of respect and honor for all of our veterans, from World War I all the way to the
current Iraq war. It is the sacrifices of these brave men and women that have allowed us to have the freedom we have
today!
As always, with the growing response of this project, we are in great need of volunteers. There have been
several articles written in magazines and news publications lately, and the response has been awesome. If you have
the spare time to make some phone calls, or would be willing to actually video tape an interview, I'd love
to hear from you. In addition, if you have any video editing experience we could sure use you as well. Also, a
major need right now with our expansion is someone with any experience in WEBSITE DESIGN.
I
wanted to post a link to the story that Fox 6 News did on our project yesterday. God bless!
I am VERY excited about Dawson Church (Homewood) and their taking on our project of
honoring all of the wonderful and brave men and women of WWII! If you are visiting the site to find out more information
about how to have a veteran interviewed for Dawson's project or just know a veteran please contact me at the information
below.
With Veteran's Day approaching, more and more people are getting behind this project. I
am looking forward to meeting many more of our nation's heroes! Look for more website updates and upgrades soon,
including some video segments of previous interviews!!!
My name is Jeff Beabout, and I am a business owner (Backyard Adventures of AL) from Birmingham, AL. The Veteran
DVD Project is an exciting new project I have decided to take on as of October 20, 2007! I recently interviewed, directed,
and produced a DVD of a local WWII hero. He was able to share all of his stories from his experiences in the European theater
as well as share his faith. By turning this into a DVD, he was able to permanently share some of the most dynamic aspects
of his life with his family for generations to come. Let's face it, these men and women are some of the bravest people
alive today. They fought a war in which it was truly unknown whether we as a nation would continue to enjoy the freedoms we
had up to that point. They faced such an evil enemy with such determination and resolve, volunteering to go to battle for
the USA. It is my personal belief that all of our WWII veterans should have the same chance as my friend here in Birmingham
did, and all of their families should be able to hear these amazing stories of bravery from the mouths of the veterans themselves.
It is because of this that I have started this organization. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN EITHER HELPING WITH THE
PROJECT OR YOU HAVE A RELATIVE WHO IS A WWII VETERAN, EITHER EMAIL ME AT THE LINK BELOW OR SIGN INTO THE GUESTBOOK.
I look forward to meeting many new people!
